From the President’s Desk

IMG_3015Greetings from me and the Dystrophy Annihilation Research Trust (DART) team.DART was established with the aim of providing solace and relief to the children affected with Muscular Dystrophy and their families through the power of Research & Development with the support of established standards of care and rehabilitation.

A disease  that has been termed “Orphan” and unfortunately affects 1 in 3500 boys, with India having one of the largest population of Muscular Dystrophy patients in the world.

Many NGO’s across India are putting their best efforts to help these children to better their quality of life. Year after year we would wait with baited breath to hear the magic words knowing very well that so many are putting in so much effort all over the world. Trials were going on across the globe and we would read about them & the outcomes on the net get assured we were 1 step closer. But nothing was physically happening for our kids in India. No trials and very little hope of getting there. Finally a couple of years back I took it upon myself to initiate the process of bringing some sort of relief to our children.

Well, it started as a one man show but now I seem to be getting huge support from Researchers, Clinicians and Families making me believe that I must be doing something right

I hope and pray that our efforts will open doors for our children towards a brighter future.

Together lets ”Aspire to Achieve Total Annihilation of Muscular Dystrophy”

Long live our Children.
